My name is Kobie Nieuwoudt, I’m an illustrator & graphic-designer by trade, but an experimenter by nature. I always aim to give my artworks and illustrations a functional quality. Humour is an essential part of life and I try to incorporate it into my work. Illustrating your feelings with a sense of humour gives you plenty of freedom. It enables me to say things I wouldn’t necessarily get the chance to say on any other platform. That said, while my work may reflect a ‘humorous’ outlook on life, I’m still a rather serious person. There is so much hate being cast around these days. Beneath all the humour there is in fact a person coping with all the craziness in the world….as we all do! For me illustrating is a positive, creative outlet and I hope it will also lighten the mood of those who come into contact with my work.
